A Southern Pacific SD40T-2 sits on the maintenance ready track at Union Pacific's North Yard Shops in Salt Lake City. The 8267 was built new by EMD for the SP in May 1980.

A late version of the model. Note the extended bulge just in from of the dynamic brake intakes, added to accomodate the newly mandated exhaust silencer (boo, hiss).
